I was in New Orleans for a Head Start training and toured several Head Start programs there. <br /><br />The Head Start classrooms were located in churches. In some cases, the teachers were living at the church because their homes had been destroyed in the hurricane. <br /><br />Homes in the 9th ward looked like they hadn't been touched since the disaster. Our tour guide told us that homeless camps had sprung up all over and there were a record number of homeless people. <br /><br />It was all very sad.
